Danielle gets a Thorpe
My Thorpe love continues. Here’s a Thorpe I made Danielle for her birthday, with a little Carrie thrown in because she likes to model – she never met a camera she didn’t love.

Here are Carrie and Chloe waiting for water to drip out of the tub faucet. Yes, they have a water dish and yes it has water, but they like dripping water from the faucet or the tub. Somebody spoiled them by turning on a faucet to drip every time somebody went into the bathroom.
These pics are from a gorgeous day when I took a walk – just a little snow and a big beautiful sky.
This is Keith taking a picture of himself in his new hat I knitted for him. I wasn’t sure about the color but it’s what he picked out at Hobby Lobby so I went with it.
It’s beautiful. It works on his sweet face. I adapted some other patterns to make it a sportweight, double thick stocking hat – exactly what he ordered.
Grandma and Grandpa can’t wait to meet this little guy……
Last night, Danielle had an ultrasound. Here’s the excited couple in the waiting room before the ultrasound.
HE is a beautiful baby boy (no more wondering what to call “it”). He has a skull and a brain – we saw that.
He currently weighs 12 oz. and Danielle is twenty weeks along – same as the original estimate. Sue (Danielle’s mom) and I both got to go in with Corey and Danielle during the ultrasound. It was very special. Neither of us had ultrasounds for our babies so it was nice to see our grandson.
Here’s a picture of the happy family…Mommy, Daddy and their son…..
Click here Baby’s heartbeat – 12_15_09 for audio of his heartbeat at Danielle’s doctor appointment in December.

This blanket was made for the new star of the family – the upcoming grandchild (or son or daughter or niece or nephew or great-grandchild depending on who you talk to). The yarn is Bernat Softee Baby.
Here’s a close-up of the little labels tied on with ribbon…
Danielle loves all things stars hence the star blanket. I was working on the blanket and Justin asked how to crochet. I had him make a double crochet and then we thought how cool if each of us crocheted a stitch for this child…so we did. Corey and Danielle loved it. Danielle said she doesn’t want to take the labels off.
This is the picture from a book that we sent to Corey of a bench we wanted built as a Christmas gift for us.
This is his finished project!
He even finished the inside – he made an insert and covered it with fabric and it has a handle on it to pull it out for cleaning. He put felt around the lid to cushion when the lid closes.
Corey made this in high school. Yes, he’s now twenty-four. I have had it hanging but finally got around to framing it. I took him to my craft room to show him and can you guess what happened next? He said “oh……..I want that”. I gave it to him. He wants to hang it in the baby’s room – who could resist that?
