People were cold – we can’t have that (kidding – they were warm but it adds to the mystery). Here’s what I made for Mom. The yarn is Yarn Bee Soft Delight Extremes – the color is EX brown. This is NICE yarn. It is double-stranded with Regia loden sock yarn. Maybe you can’t tell from the picture, but it is a keyhole scarf and a pair of fingerless gloves – very luxurious.

This hat and gaiter set was made for Dad. The hat is double thick and reversible. The camo yarn is Red Heart (ickkkkkkkkk) and the other yarn is I Love This Yarn (and I do) – the color is coffee.

…that wasn’t Dad…this is Dad…he likes getting his picture taken.

For Aunt Betty, I crocheted a scarf with the Yarn Bee Soft Delight Extremes – again EX brown – the second strand was Simply Soft – a pretty dusty rose color – unsure of the technical color name.

This blanket was made for the new star of the family – the upcoming grandchild (or son or daughter or niece or nephew or great-grandchild depending on who you talk to). The yarn is Bernat Softee Baby.

Here’s a close-up of the little labels tied on with ribbon…

Danielle loves all things stars hence the star blanket. I was working on the blanket and Justin asked how to crochet. I had him make a double crochet and then we thought how cool if each of us crocheted a stitch for this child…so we did. Corey and Danielle loved it. Danielle said she doesn’t want to take the labels off.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…….Corey’s sleeping….and so is Chloe. This was a beautiful New Year’s Eve. Corey and Danielle came and we had pizza and Corey and I made chocolate crinkle cookies (Keith’s favorite – sorry you missed it Keith). Corey fell asleep pretty early but Mark, Danielle and I stayed up till 12:30 or 1:00 and then they spent the night. This picture of our sleepy boy was taken at 11:56 p.m.
Danielle and I knitted and crocheted. Danielle finished her first baby afghan at 11:58 p.m. I told her to hurry and weave the ends in before midnight so she could say she made three scarves and one baby blanket in 2009. She did with Mark supplying a little pressure while she weaved in the ends. Here’s the blanket – I think it’s Bernat boucle. We’ve since decided that in order to fix one of the wonky corners and make the blanket a little bigger, Danielle is going to learn how to make a border. So technically, it’s not finished but here it is……..

This was a Christmas gift for a little girl – the granddaughter of one of Mark’s co-workers – it’s too cute not to post – so here it is……….
and here it is swaddling a soft little dog…………

This is Carrie modeling the almost completed blanket for Corey and Danielle. Now it’s time for the border – the long, long, long boring border. The picture is kind of cruddy because I took it at night from my Iphone since my digital camera was not cooperating.

These beauties are Carrie and Chloe. All who know me well, know that they are the precious lights of our lives since our beautiful sons are now grown and on their own. This is the blanket I am crocheting for Corey and Danielle. Carrie and Chloe refuse to help crochet this monstrosity, except to run through the house with balls of yarn at will. It is Cascade 220 superwash and the colors are 837 (pink), 814 (blue) and 815 (black), with a size J crochet hook. Corey and I designed it (surprise Danielle!!! NOT – Corey never could keep a secret – we still love him though). It will be 7×6 feet, before the border, although Corey keeps wanting it bigger and bigger. He’s 6′ 4″ and wants it REALLY long.
Below is a picture from April 11, 2008, when I started the blanket.
